Blox Monsters Tier List

This Blox Monsters tier list ranks the best monsters for the current meta, based on community testing, the Discord tier list channel and long-session grinding. The short version: build a tank/DPS core around the Hatred aggro system, with Dark Hiller in front and Milofoy or Dread Spike dealing damage from safety.

The game is updated weekly, so placements shift. We note where the community disagrees and what to grind first so your effort never goes to waste.

Best Monsters Tier List

S
  • Dark Hiller The defining tank. Positive Hatred keeps every boss and wild pack glued to it while your damage dealers work freely.
  • Milofoy The proven DPS pick. Long-session players have pushed it to SSS and it clears every current world comfortably.
  • Exile Celestial Elite third slot: strong stats and flexibility, completing the standard meta trio.
A
  • Dread Spike Rated above Milofoy on the Discord DPS tier list by some testers. If you missed Milofoy, grind this instead.
  • Auroraflare Final evolution of the starter Bubblefin and the fastest mount in the game – top pick for map traversal and farming routes.
  • Picomo Evolved from the hidden monster Pico in Astral Grove. Strong psychic attacker with rare-spawn prestige.
B
  • Illusivon Astral Grove psychic line (from Illusi-ver). Solid mid-game damage while you hunt the S-tier targets.
  • Phantom Evolved Faint. Good supporting damage and easy to obtain on the newest island.
  • Tidal Bun Mid-stage of the Bubblefin line. Carries the early game and leads to Auroraflare.
C
  • Seedmon / Flowermon Early Misty Forest catches. Fine for the first hours, fusion fuel later.
  • Cactus Cub Not a fighter – farm these for some of the best XP per kill in the early game.
  • Volt Loop Around 80 XP per kill makes it a leveling target, not a team member.

Orbit Fin, the second hidden monster of Astral Grove, is widely considered the hardest catch in the game (about 44% even with the Demon Ball, on a rare spawn). Its placement is still settling – treat it as a collector trophy first, meta pick second.

Best Team & the Hatred System

Hatred is Blox Monsters' aggro stat. A monster with positive Hatred stands closer to the enemy and gets targeted more; negative Hatred keeps a monster in the back line, safe from hits. Building around it is what separates smooth boss farming from constant wipes.

  • Tank (front): Dark Hiller with +Hatred traits, plus health-focused mutations (HP mutations can roughly double effective bulk).
  • DPS (back): Milofoy or Dread Spike with -Hatred, stacked with damage traits and mutations.
  • Flex: Exile Celestial, or your highest-rank catch with good trait/mutation rolls.

Build monsters around their natural strengths: a high-HP species wants survivability traits, a damage species wants offense. Spreading stats thin makes every monster mediocre.

Ranks Explained: E to SSS

Every catch and hatch rolls a rank that multiplies the monster's stats – the same species at C and at SSS are different beasts entirely. Ranks run from E up through D, C, B, A, S, SS and SSS.

  • Fusion raises ranks: combine duplicates of the same species and rank to push it one tier higher. Never sell duplicates – they are rank-up fuel.
  • Rank Luck (from bloodlines like Milofoy +100% or Exile Celestial +200%) improves the ranks you roll on catches.
  • Auto-fusing can be bought in the in-game shop to remove the manual grind.
  • The catch auto-lock protects S-rank and above from being accidentally sold.
