Items decide how fast you progress in Blox Monsters. Upgraded capture balls turn 50/50 catches into reliable ones, fruits power your XP and reroll economy, hourglasses compress 15-hour egg timers, and the two rotating shops gate the rarest materials.
Here is every item category, what it does, and what is actually worth your coins.
Capture Balls
Capture balls determine your catch chance, and the Ball Shop sells progressively stronger tiers – from the starter ball up through mid-tier options like the Storm Ball to the top-tier Demon Ball. Even with the Demon Ball, the rarest monsters resist: hidden spawn Orbit Fin sits around a 44% catch chance.
- Upgrade balls before anything else – veteran players recommend buying every ball tier before spending on rank-ups.
- Weaken a monster in battle first: lower HP means better catch odds with any ball.
- Catch-chance bloodlines (Picomori 2x, Snowbloom 1.5x) multiply with better balls.
Eggs & Incubators
Eggs are the main source of monsters you cannot simply catch in the wild. Island eggs (Grass, Shadow) hatch the local roster, while boss eggs like the Sealed Egg hold the strongest hatches in the game.
- Boss eggs hatch in roughly 15 hours; island eggs are faster.
- The Egg Hatcher / incubator sits at spawn in Misty Forest – queue an egg every time you pass it.
- Hourglasses (Item Shop and Limited Shop) cut hatch time; the Limited Shop versions are stronger.
- Hatch-time bloodlines stack on top: Sealed Calamity -25%, Serpent Deity -15% with legendary trait odds.

Traits, Mutations & Reroll Fruits
Every monster can carry one trait and one mutation, and they matter as much as rank: a health mutation can roughly double a monster's effective HP, while damage traits make boss farming dramatically faster. Two copies of the same species can play completely differently because of these rolls.
- Pet rerolls let you reroll traits, mutations and skills using special fruits earned in gameplay or bought in shops.
- Do not waste reroll fruits on common monsters – save them for boss-egg hatches, high ranks and hard-to-get species.
- Match rolls to roles: HP/defense for your tank, damage for your DPS.
- Legendary traits exist – Serpent Deity bloodline adds +10% legendary odds on every hatch.
Mounts
Some monsters double as mounts, letting you cross islands far faster than on foot – crucial when racing to hidden monster spawns or rotating between boss timers. The current speed king is Auroraflare, the final evolution of starter Bubblefin, widely cited as the fastest mount in the game.
